About the Institute of Microwaves and Photonics

The Institute of Microwaves and Photonics (IMP) is part of the Faculty of Engineering and has well-equipped laboratories for microwave measurements, photonics, and terahertz-frequency spectroscopy and imaging, a two-storey class-100 cleanroom and III-V semiconductor MBE facility, and a suite of laboratories for molecular nanotechnology and bioelectronics. In addition, it has excellent computing facilities, including a super-computer cluster and state-of-the-art CAD packages. The IMP has thirteen academic staff, including seven professors.
